Casa Papelillo is a private villa on Chamela Bay, Jalisco, Mexico. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit casapapelillo.com, contact us or book a stay, how we use it and the choices you have.

Who is responsible for your information

Papelillo LLC, 251 Little Falls Drive, Wilmington, Delaware 19808, USA, is responsible for the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, write to info@casapapelillo.com.

What we collect

When you contact us by email, WhatsApp, phone or one of our request forms: your name, contact details, travel dates, group size and whatever you tell us about your plans.

When you book: the lead guest’s name, email, phone number and country, your dates, the number of guests and the names of everyone in your party. The gated community’s security team checks guest names on arrival.

Payment: card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our website or our team. We receive confirmation of the payment, the amount and the last four digits of the card.

To look after you during your stay: arrival and departure details, food preferences, allergies and dietary needs, and any experiences you ask us to arrange. Allergy and dietary details are sensitive information; we ask for them only so our chef can cook safely for you, and we use them for nothing else.

When you browse the site: Google Analytics records pages visited, approximate location (country and city), device and browser type. We do not see your name or email through Analytics. You can opt out at any time (see “Cookies” below).

We do not knowingly collect information from children. Bookings must be made by an adult.

Why we use it

Necessary for your inquiry or stay:

• answering your questions and preparing a proposal;
• confirming and managing your booking, payment and rental agreement;
• preparing the villa, meals, transfers and experiences you request;
• registering your party with community security;
• meeting our tax, accounting and legal obligations.

Optional, and you can opt out at any time:

• understanding how the website is used so we can improve it (opt out with your browser settings or Google’s opt-out add-on);
• writing to you after your stay, for example to ask for a review or share news from the villa (reply “unsubscribe” or write to info@casapapelillo.com).

Saying no to an optional use does not affect your booking or the services you have requested.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

• Our villa team (butler, chef, housekeeping) and the outside providers you ask us to book, such as drivers, guides, spa and beauty professionals;
• Community security, who receive guest names for entry;
• Stripe (payments), Google (email, forms, calendar, analytics, maps and fonts), GitHub (hosting of our booking calendar), WhatsApp (messages you send us there), Trustindex (display of Google reviews) and our website hosting provider;
• The travel agency or advisor who referred your booking, when there is one;
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

If you book through Airbnb or Vrbo, those platforms handle your information under their own privacy policies.

Our team and providers are in Mexico and the United States, so your information is processed in both countries.

How long we keep it

• Booking and payment records: 7 years after your stay, for tax and legal reasons.
• Inquiries that do not become a booking: 24 months.
• Dietary and allergy details: deleted or anonymised within 12 months of your stay unless you ask us to keep them for a future visit.
• Analytics data: 14 months.

Some pages load content from other companies, who receive your IP address when they do: Google Fonts (all pages), Google Maps (Location page), Google reviews through Trustindex (Reviews page) and our booking calendar (hosted on GitHub Pages). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and block Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The site still works without them.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for optional purposes. Write to info@casapapelillo.com with your name and your request. We reply within 30 days and may ask for proof of identity.

• Mexico: you have the rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition (ARCO rights), and you can withdraw your consent or limit the use and sharing of your information, by the same email.
• European Union and United Kingdom: you also have the rights to data portability, to restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
• California and other US states: you have the right to know, correct and delete your information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant and we have your email, we will tell you directly.
