Casa Papelillo hosts events two ways. At the villa: weddings, yoga and wellness retreats, bachelorette weekends and celebrations — beyond the 12 house guests with prior written approval, as an extra to a whole-villa booking, priced on request. In the Costa Careyes community, ten minutes south: Ondalinda x Careyes, the polo season, the holidays and the ArteCareyes Film & Arts Festival, with the villa as your base.

Celebrations for registered guests are always welcome. Casa Papelillo can also host events beyond its 12 overnight guests — from weddings and yoga retreats to milestone birthdays and rehearsal dinners — with prior written approval. Weddings can welcome up to 150 guests. Events require booking the whole villa and are priced on request by event type, guest numbers and duration. Unapproved parties or events are not permitted. Every event is different, so every quote is too. Tell us your dates, the number of guests and what you have in mind, and we will come back with a proposal. Hosts supply all event services — entertainment, décor, catering, security and valet parking, portable toilets and a generator — and we are happy to recommend local vendors. The names of all attendees and vendors are sent to us in advance and verified by community security on entry, and hosts hold event liability insurance.

Casa Papelillo sits ten minutes north of Careyes and shares its community, culture and calendar. For the region’s festivals and holidays the villa is available to host your group: private, fully staffed, sleeping 12 in five suites, with a butler who can arrange drivers to and from each event. Festival and holiday dates fall in high season, with a five-night minimum.
Cultural & music festival · November

Polo & sport tournaments · November – April
The Careyes polo season runs from November to April, with tournaments over Thanksgiving, the New Year and the spring. Spectators watch free of charge, ten minutes from the house.
Holidays · 20 December – 5 January
The New Year polo tournament, beach clubs and celebrations across Careyes, with your chef cooking at home on the nights you stay in.
Early – mid February
Careyes marks Chinese New Year with days of polo, ceremonies and celebrations. It falls in high season at the villa, so book early.
Art & film · March
Mexican and Latin American film, music and contemporary art in Careyes each spring — with the villa’s chef, pool and terraces between screenings.
Holidays · March – April
Spring tournaments, full beach clubs and the busiest weeks on the coast. Easter is high season at the villa, with a five-night minimum.
Workshops & culture · August
Outdoor activities, workshops, exhibitions, screenings and craft markets in Careyes — in the green season, when the villa is at its quietest.
